The first Gen-Z representative in Congress shares practical steps Floridians can take to work to protect their rights as well as their quality of life.
After President Donald Trump’s initial flurry of executive orders signaled massive changes that could negatively impact many individuals and families, there is growing concern across the nation about how four more years of the Trump administration will affect people’s lives.
And Florida is not an exception. Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost told Floricua that working people and families across the Sunshine State are worried about the impact of Trump’s economic policies, which favor massive tax cuts for billionaires while raising them for hardworking Americans. Frost also talked about the possibility that the Trump administration might target basic human rights, like the right to marry the person of your choice, or a woman’s right make crucial reproductive decisions with her doctor.
“I have a lot of people sending me DM messages saying, ‘How can he work so fast?” Frost told Floricua during a one-on-one interview. “He’s doing all this stuff and it’s just been a week. And it’s like, yeah, it’s almost like there was a plan that was made. Maybe a project, a project of the year 2025?”
Trump, Frost says, “completely lied” to the American people when he said he had nothing to do with Project 2025. “In fact, he had everything to do with it, and it has everything to do with him.”

In view of this growing concern, we asked the first Gen-Z representative what Floridians can do to continue to protect theirs and their families’ rights, as well as ensure their quality of life is protected. Here’s what Congressman Frost told Floricua:
- Number one: “Vote locally, vote at the statewide level, and vote federally. What is happening now is the result of an election, and this is the consequence of an election.”
- Number two: “Voting is extremely important, so make sure your friends are registered.”
- Number three: “Get involved in an organization. Frost encourages people to pick an issue. If you want to help end gun violence, find a local gun violence prevention organization. If you want to focus on immigration and how horribly other humans are being treated, get involved with the local immigration.”
- Number four: “We also need to be involved in advocacy. Get involved with the ACLU or find a local organization. It’s as easy as Googling the issue area and finding what groups are organizing locally. Get very involved, and then get your friends involved. And then through that, you can take part in protest, in advocacy. Voting alone doesn’t save us.”
